Fitzgerald + Associates was established by the late Bob Fitzgerald in 1984.
Robert Fitzgerald (generally known as Bob) was born in Edinburgh in 1948 and educated at Perth Academy and at Robert Gordon’s College, Aberdeen. After graduating in 1972 he obtained a further diploma in Urban Design, which led to work with Cumbernauld Development Corporation. In the early seventies he worked for Gordon & Dey in Edinburgh and spent two years in London working for John Dangerfield before moving to Aberdeen in 1979. Bob went into independent practice in Aberdeen in 1984 as Fitzgerald & Associates. The firm was best known for bars and nightclubs, winning a number of awards for work in this field, but also carried out hotel, housing, industrial and office projects.
Bob Fitzgerald died on 10 November 2009 after a short battle with cancer and it was his wish that the practice continued with Kevin, Ewan and his wife Kate.
